The government of Tamil Nadu has made wearing of helmet compulsory for all two wheelers. But this rule was not accepted and was dropped. From our survey the main reason for the failure of such safety measure is the heat and high temperature of Tamil Nadu which makes wearing of helmet unbearable. So we have designed a self cooling helmet which maintains the internal temperature as required there by making it desirable to be worn. The helmets design is based on two concepts namely • Peltier’s effect • Photovoltaic effect
You would have heard about self cooling soda bottles which can reduce the temperature by 30’c in just three minutes. The design of our helmets is similar to this with certain changes such as continuous cooling when compared to single time cooling of soda bottle and use of solar power rather than conventional battery
